About Heather

Having worked as a Freelance Illustrator for over 20 years it is wonderful to be able to say that I'm still as passionate about my work now as the day I started.

My particular style of illustration is what could broadly be called "contemporary". I'm also very flattered to say that, it has been described by clients as "edgy" which I think partly stems from the inspiration I have taken from such great artists as William Morris, MC Escher and Maurice Sendak. However, I think the real key to my success is being able to tailor my work to match the criteria of each individual client.

Every client is different and every project is different. So, it is crucial that I take their brief in the finest detail, making absolutely sure I have accurately interpreted their requirements in order for me to create an illustration which clearly communicates its intended message. That is fundamentally what lies at the heart of my passion for my work - I consider it a real privilege to be able to use art in such a powerful way.

I love the fact that I am asked to produce illustrations for such a wide range of projects, including:

• Book covers
• Greeting cards
• Editorials
• Promotional literature
• Private commissions
• Architectural artists impressions

If you click on my portfolio you can view some of the different ways my hand-rendered illustrations can be used, whether in isolation or to complement a piece of written text.

Whilst I am an "Artist" in every sense, I still have my feet firmly on the ground when it comes to providing my service; as well as producing the highest quality illustrations for my clients I also pride myself on meeting tight deadlines and offering solutions which suit my clients' budgets.

If you have a project that you feel might benefit from the addition of a piece of bespoke, completely unique artwork, why not get in touch for an informal chat. I would love to hear from you.
